Gender determination scans can be performed from 17 weeks gestation.
3D/4D scans can be performed at any time but for best results we strongly recommend these scans be performed after 25 weeks with best images obtained between 27 and 32 weeks.
Three-dimensional (3D) and four-dimensional (4D) ultrasound imaging allow expectant parents to see a life-like image of their developing baby. It can be an incredible bonding experience for old and young.
The images allow some personalisation and identification of characteristics that the baby may share with its parents or siblings.
4D scanning is the term used to describe the capture of video clips of baby's movements whilst scanning in 3D. So a 3D image is a static image and a 4D scan is a video clip of a few seconds duration.
Frequently observed and captured movements include yawning, smiling, poking out the tongue, putting fingers/hands/feet into the mouth, grabbing toes with fingers. We are qualified and experienced sonographers with the knowledge and technical ability to capture the highest quality images and angles of your growing foetus.
